"Lakeside District" on Lake Phewa in Pokhara, Nepal. The peak of Machupuchree mountain in the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas is in the distant middle. The green mountain to the left (west) of the picture is Sarangkot. The NICLED Building is near the peak of Sarangkot.

NICLED on a foggy day in August 2009, Monsoon season!

As you go up Sarangkot, by bus, car, motorcycle or on foot, you'll see the other end of Lake Phewa on your left.

Annapurna Range, Machupuchree Mtn. on your Left (notice banana tree!)

Machupucheree close-up. The only peak in the Himalayas that's never been climbed.

Further up lakeside valley on your Left again (bus stop is by white road just below NICLED).

This is the trail you want to be on, the Annapurna Circuit trail, that's Annapurna 1 up ahead, and this is the view from the Main Classroom; so you've arrived!

Danny, the pictures are spectacular and I am so overwhelmed by your effort. I've hard of the mountain range in the distance for eyars, but never knew much about it. Your pictures and the setting are just breathtaking. You must be very proud of the effort you are putting in and the job you are doing. How long have you been there? From Aleda's Homecoming escort to here is a mjajor step up!!! You should be proud.
